Job Description

This UN Volunteer information-management assignment supports UNICEF Mali's child-protection and monitoring-and-reporting mechanisms for children affected by conflict. It keeps MRM and child-protection data secure and usable, develops data tools and analysis, and equips UNICEF, government and partner teams to turn verified evidence into coordinated programming, advocacy and reporting.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Manage and strengthen MRM and child-protection information-management systems including MRM IMS+ and CPIMS+
  • Develop and update data-collection, reporting and analysis tools with UNICEF teams and partners
  • Produce data visualisations and analytical documents for MRM and child-protection programmes
  • Train UNICEF staff, partners and technical working groups in data collection and information management
  • Consolidate and visualise data through dashboards, maps, infographics and needs analyses
  • Support monitoring, evaluation and reporting through situation reports, trend analyses and results documentation
  • Provide troubleshooting and continuous technical support to MRM IMS+ and CPIMS+ users
  • Coordinate information-management approaches across UNICEF sections, protection groups and clusters

Role Requirements

  • Experience in information management and child protection
  • Background in information management, information systems, data science, statistics, geographic information systems or a related field
  • French

Desired Criteria

  • Experience with Primero, MRM IMS+, CPIMS+ or GBVIMS and knowledge of the MRM are assets
  • Experience with the United Nations or another international development or humanitarian organisation is an asset
  • Knowledge of geographic information systems is an asset
