Senior Procurement Specialist (Category Head - Technology)

Leads technology category strategy and strategic sourcing for the World Bank Group’s Corporate Procurement Department. The Category Head manages a global team, guides complex technology procurements and supplier relationships, strengthens governance and value creation, and advises senior stakeholders on sourcing, commercial risk and long-term procurement priorities.

• Develop and oversee technology category strategies
• Identify opportunities for cost optimisation and value creation
• Lead category reviews and strategic planning
• Lead and develop category managers and procurement professionals
• Oversee complex technology sourcing initiatives
• Review sourcing strategies, solicitation documents and evaluation methods
• Support negotiations for major contracts and supplier agreements
• Advise senior stakeholders on procurement strategy and commercial matters

• Master’s degree in Supply Management, Finance Management, Marketing, Human Resources, Operations, Applied Economics or a related field with at least eight years of relevant experience
• Experience in technology category management and complex procurement sourcing
• Experience leading high-performing procurement teams
• Ability to advise senior stakeholders on sourcing and commercial matters
• Project-management experience across related projects
• Superior English communication skills
