Job Description

Oversees financial management and support services for the Italian Red Cross delegation’s programmes in Ukraine. The role links budgeting, reporting, cash flow, accounting and compliance with programme delivery, while advising management and partners on financial controls, procurement oversight and donor requirements to support transparent, accountable operations.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Oversee financial planning, monitoring and reporting for programmes and projects implemented in country
  • Provide financial input to project design, budgeting, revisions and forecasting
  • Monitor project expenditure against approved budgets and follow up material variances
  • Coordinate internal and external audit processes and follow up audit recommendations
  • Ensure accurate registration of invoices, journals and transactions in the ERP system
  • Oversee e-banking payments with proper authorisation and segregation of duties
  • Provide technical oversight and compliance monitoring for logistics and procurement processes
  • Advise management, programme teams and partners on finance, ERP and compliance processes

Role Requirements

  • University degree in finance, accounting, economics, business administration or a related field
  • Minimum five years of progressively responsible experience in financial management within humanitarian, development or international organisations
  • At least three years of programme financial-management experience including budgeting, forecasting, monitoring and donor financial reporting
  • Experience in audit coordination
  • Experience providing financial oversight and compliance support to logistics and procurement processes
  • Fluent spoken and written English and Ukrainian

Desired Criteria

  • Postgraduate degree in International Cooperation or Humanitarian Studies
  • Experience working in a Red Cross or Red Crescent National Society, IFRC or ICRC
  • Good command of Italian
  • Good command of another IFRC official language
