Job Description
Builds a WHO AFRO roster of consultants who can rapidly support Member States on regulatory systems, local production and health-technology manufacturing. Assignments strengthen governance, quality systems, technology transfer, technical-assistance coordination and national roadmaps for medicines, vaccines, diagnostics and medical devices, delivering expert analysis and capacity-building support.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Strengthen regulatory systems maturity and institutional development plans
- Support local production ecosystems and WHO prequalification readiness
- Coordinate technical assistance with regional partners
- Develop national and regional strategies, tools and costed roadmaps
- Deliver engagement-specific technical outputs and capacity building
Role Requirements
- Master’s degree in pharmacy, medicine, law, regulatory affairs, public health, biomedical engineering, IT or related field
- At least 7 years of relevant technical-specialist experience
- Expert knowledge of English
Desired Criteria
- Advanced degree or PhD
- Working knowledge of French or Portuguese
