Job Description

Strengthens UNICEF Pacific’s risk, compliance and internal-control framework through assessment, mitigation, assurance and reporting. The specialist coordinates risk reviews and mitigation measures; promotes adherence to policies, delegated authorities and governance requirements; supports fraud prevention and management advice; provides oversight to senior management; develops staff capacity.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Coordinate risk assessments mitigation and assurance reviews
  • Promote internal controls and adherence to policies procedures and governance
  • Support fraud-risk prevention and anti-fraud measures
  • Provide strategic oversight and risk-informed advice to management
  • Build staff awareness and capacity in ethics compliance and safeguarding
  • Support regional risk and compliance reviews and knowledge sharing

Role Requirements

  • Advanced degree in business administration financial management operations management strategic management risk management audit investigation internal control statistics or related field
  • At least five years of risk and compliance or directly relevant experience including internal audit
  • Financial-management and financial-control-system experience
  • Proficiency in English
  • Donor relationships resource mobilization and complex-grant-management experience

Desired Criteria

  • Knowledge of another official UN language or a local language
  • Fraud-prevention anti-fraud ethics or accountability framework knowledge
  • Dashboard and risk-analytics data-analysis and reporting skills
  • Developing-country small-island-state or Asia-Pacific experience
  • Emergency or humanitarian-context familiarity
  • Data-analysis or accounting certifications
  • NGO or UN experience
  • Country-level development fragile-setting or humanitarian-context experience
