Job Description

Leads and strengthens UNICEF operations in Semera through risk-informed analysis, management services and operational oversight. The role advances workforce, finance, risk, systems and partner-management pillars; improves controls and business processes; and supports country-programme decision-making, resilience and delivery for children in complex humanitarian contexts.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Implement people-resources strategies, office-culture solutions and training support
  • Support financial oversight, monitoring and reporting for country-programme budgets
  • Implement the office supply plan and support regional strategies
  • Use the eGRC platform to support operational and programmatic risk-informed decisions
  • Test business-continuity plans and support emergency preparedness and response
  • Improve operations processes, IT-enabled business processes and asset use
  • Provide technical support for HACT implementation and financial-assurance follow-up

Role Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business management, financial management, accounting, public finance or a related operations function
  • At least one year of professional experience in operations management, including budget, finance, facilities, administration, supply and logistics, ICT or human resources
  • Understanding of Results Based Management
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications
  • Proficiency in English

Desired Criteria

  • Experience in a UN-system agency, large private or public company, developing country or humanitarian emergency context
  • Experience with corporate ERPs and IPSAS
  • Experience supporting successful client-oriented work units
  • Relevant country-level experience in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts
