Job Description

ECLAC seeks a Research Assistant in Santiago for the Agricultural Development Unit. The role monitors food systems, bioeconomy and productive development; collects and analyzes documents and data; prepares research material, reports and visualizations; maintains databases and contacts; supports policy discussions and meetings; and produces tables, charts and knowledge products for development.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Monitor food systems, bioeconomy and productive development
  • Evaluate documents, collect data and prepare research materials
  • Compile information and prepare database inputs
  • Examine statistical material and prepare reports, tables, charts and data sets
  • Maintain files and databases and coordinate data collection
  • Support meetings, policy discussions, data presentations and information materials

Role Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Seven years of social/economic-development research experience, reduced to five with a first-level university degree
  • English and Spanish

Desired Criteria

  • Economics, statistics, agricultural or environmental economics study is desirable
  • Food systems, bioeconomy and productive-development experience is desirable
  • Data analytics experience is desirable

Additional Information

  • General Service appointment on a local basis in Santiago
