Job Description
The Public Health Programme Specialist supports WHO Viet Nam's Health Security and Emergencies Team through public-health programme planning, implementation, monitoring and coordination. The assignment analyses health data, supports disease prevention and emergency preparedness, prepares technical products, convenes stakeholders and strengthens health-system capacity as part of the UNV Humanitarian Emergency Response roster.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Support public-health programme implementation aligned with national priorities
- Collect, analyse and report health data for evidence-based decisions
- Contribute to disease prevention, health promotion and emergency preparedness
- Monitor programme activities and document results and lessons
- Prepare technical reports, briefing notes and presentations
- Coordinate with government, health institutions and development partners
- Organise workshops, consultations and public-health events
- Strengthen health systems through capacity building and knowledge sharing
Role Requirements
- At least seven years of professional experience in public health, epidemiology, health systems or related fields
- Experience analysing health data and preparing technical documents
- Experience planning, implementing, monitoring or evaluating health programmes
- Experience collaborating with government, health institutions, partners or community groups
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent written and spoken English
Desired Criteria
- Experience in disease prevention, health promotion or health emergency preparedness
- Knowledge of public-health policies, frameworks and guidelines
- Experience with monitoring and evaluation, health information systems or data visualisation
- Experience with WHO, UN agencies, government health institutions or NGOs
- Knowledge of local languages and duty-station health context
