Job Description
Assess how climate change affects health and health-system resilience in Burundi and lead development of a national adaptation strategy using a One Health approach. The consultant will analyse vulnerability, map risks, model future impacts, consult institutions and deliver French-language technical reports.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Assess current and projected climate-change impacts on health and the national health system
- Map climate-health risks priority areas and vulnerable population groups
- Evaluate health-system preparedness resilience infrastructure workforce surveillance and service continuity
- Develop climate and epidemiological models to support health-system planning
- Draft and validate a national climate-change adaptation strategy and final mission report in French
Role Requirements
- Hold a master’s degree in public health epidemiology climatology environment or a related discipline
- Have at least ten years of professional experience including seven years in climate change and environmental health
- Have completed at least three assignments related to climate change and health
- Demonstrate expertise in One Health vulnerability analysis geospatial information and strategic planning
- Have a high level of French and sufficient English communication ability
Desired Criteria
- Doctorate in a relevant discipline
- Experience preparing technical documents for United Nations or international institutions
- Experience working in a United Nations or international organisation
