Supports UNOPS Afghanistan projects through planning, implementation, monitoring and operational coordination. The retainer specialist tracks scope, cost, quality and risk; supports finance, procurement and grant processes; and works with donors, authorities and project teams to maintain compliant delivery. The role also contributes to reporting, quality assurance, knowledge sharing and future project development.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Support planning, implementation and monitoring of projects against approved work plans and budgets
- Track scope, schedule, cost, quality and risk and propose corrective actions
- Support financial planning, reporting, cash-flow management and cost control
- Support procurement, grant management, bid evaluation and contract administration
- Coordinate with donors, partners, authorities and project teams
- Prepare performance, financial and completion reports and support quality assurance
- Support project-management training and knowledge-sharing activities
Role Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with seven years of relevant experience or Master’s degree with five years of relevant experience
- Experience in project management or related areas
- Proficiency using collaboration and productivity tools, including Microsoft Office and G Suite, and web-based management systems
- Fluent English
Desired Criteria
- Professional project-management certification or membership
- Experience in multicultural environments or UN-system organizations in a developing country
- Experience in development or humanitarian contexts
