Job Description

The Project Management Support Associate helps deliver a GEF-funded hazardous-waste project in Dushanbe through planning, stakeholder coordination, training logistics, procurement support and project controls. The role maintains monitoring tools and documentation, supports reporting and compliance, and contributes to capacity-building on non-thermal treatment of DDT and persistent pollutants.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Support stakeholder engagement, training-needs assessments and capacity-building programmes
  • Contribute to budgets, procurement processes and risk-mitigation measures
  • Coordinate logistics for training sessions, workshops and meetings
  • Develop monitoring tools, progress trackers and risk or issue registers
  • Prepare and archive project and training documentation
  • Track milestones and alert managers to deadlines and reporting requirements
  • Coordinate procurement, travel, transport and inventory for project operations

Role Requirements

  • Secondary school or equivalent with 6 years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any discipline with 2 years of relevant experience
  • Relevant experience in project management or related areas
  • Proficiency with collaboration and productivity tools and web-based management systems
  • Fluent English, Tajik and Russian

Desired Criteria

  • Professional certificate or membership in Project Management
  • Experience in multicultural environments or UN system organizations in a developing country
  • Experience in development or humanitarian contexts
