Summary of Responsibilities
- Coordinate day-to-day implementation of the Mayors Challenge initiative against approved workplans, timelines, budgets and UNDP procedures
- Develop implementation plans, activity schedules and coordination mechanisms for paint facilities, women-led groups, procurement and monitoring
- Provide technical inputs integrating circular economy, waste management, women’s economic empowerment and urban-heat mitigation components
- Coordinate municipal departments, UNDP India, the project management unit and implementing partners to resolve delivery bottlenecks
- Support operationalisation and scaling of decentralised paint plants, including supply systems, quality assurance and institutional adoption
- Maintain monitoring systems, analyse project data and assess progress, risks, milestones and output quality
- Conduct monitoring visits and consultations with partners, beneficiaries and service providers to verify implementation results
- Prepare analytical inputs for progress and donor reports, presentations, project briefs and decision-making documents
Role Requirements
- Advanced university degree in Public Policy, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Public Management or a related field; a first-level degree in these fields with two additional years of qualifying experience may be considered
- For applicants with a bachelor’s degree, at least two years of relevant professional experience in project coordination, project implementation, urban development, public-service innovation or a related area
- Fluency in English and Hindi
Desired Criteria
- Experience working with the United Nations system, development organizations or other multilateral agencies
- Experience with circular economy, waste management or climate resilience
- Experience supporting women’s livelihoods creation or gender issues
- Experience working with public-sector institutions at any level
- Experience supporting monitoring, evaluation, learning, data collection and results reporting
