Summary of Responsibilities

  • Coordinate environmental and social screening and risk assessment
  • Develop and assure safeguards instruments and site controls
  • Supervise field safeguards focal points and deliver training
  • Conduct monitoring and manage non-compliance follow-up
  • Lead inclusive consultation and FPIC processes
  • Liaise with government, financiers and implementing partners

Role Requirements

  • Advanced degree in environmental science, environmental management, natural-resource management, anthropology, social sciences, development studies, public policy or related field
  • At least five years environmental and social safeguards experience applying IFC Performance Standards or World Bank Environmental and Social Framework
  • English fluency

Desired Criteria

  • IFC PS5, PS6 and PS7 experience
  • Kenya environmental legislation and safeguards frameworks
  • Biodiversity, displacement and indigenous-people engagement expertise
