Programme Assistant

Supports UN-Habitat’s Brazil Office in delivering the Periferia Viva Maré project through administrative, logistical and coordination assistance. The consultant organises project activities and documentation, liaises with stakeholders, maintains records, and prepares technical reports and presentations. The role supports effective implementation and monitoring of urban-development activities with public and community partners.

• Provide administrative and logistical support for project activities, meetings, missions and events
• Prepare and consolidate technical reports, presentations and documentation
• Support coordination and communication among project stakeholders
• Maintain project records and filing systems
• Support implementation and monitoring of project activities
• Complete required training and comply with UN security requirements

• Bachelor's degree in International Relations, Geography, Sociology, Law, Economics, Social Work, Social Sciences or a related field, or three additional years of relevant experience beyond the requirement
• At least three years of relevant experience, particularly research in favelas, community mobilisation and teamwork in Brazil
• Computer skills in Windows, Office packages and web search engines
• Fluency in Portuguese
• Brazilian nationality or a permanent visa in Brazil

• Social-area and fieldwork-support experience is desirable
• Previous United Nations experience is desirable
• Online event and conference-tool skills are desirable
