Job Description
Develops UNHCR's private philanthropy and major-donor programme in China, helping expand support for refugees and other forcibly displaced people. The role researches the philanthropic market, builds and stewards donor relationships, prepares proposals and communications, manages partnership information and income records, supports events and compliance, and advises the Private Sector Partnerships team on sustainable fundraising growth.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Support the design and execution of philanthropy and high-net-worth donor strategy for China
- Lead donor acquisition, pipeline development and stewardship for the major-donor programme
- Identify, qualify, cultivate and manage prospective donors throughout the donor lifecycle
- Research the philanthropic market and analyse new donor segments and fundraising opportunities
- Prepare pitches, presentations, proposals, reports and donor communications
- Maintain partnership records, donor interactions, income tracking and Salesforce data
- Apply UNHCR due-diligence procedures and prepare compliance reports for the global partnerships team
- Coordinate donor events, campaign materials and visibility activities with colleagues and partners
Role Requirements
- High school diploma with at least three years of relevant experience, or a bachelor's degree with at least two years of relevant experience
- Experience in private philanthropy or corporate fundraising with United Nations agencies, international non-governmental organisations, international organisations or corporate social-responsibility programmes
- Excellent knowledge of United Nations and UNHCR procedures
- Excellent use of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent written and spoken Chinese and English
- Fundraising, research, networking, writing, translation, communication and presentation capability
