Job Description

Acts as IOM’s health focal point at the Ouanaminthe border, coordinating migrant health support with Haiti’s Ministry of Public Health and local health services. The consultant tracks medical needs and referrals, medicines and supplies, public-health and psychosocial concerns, and produces follow-up information that helps partners provide timely, confidential and coordinated care to vulnerable migrants.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Serve as health focal point linking IOM, MSPP/DSNE and border health services in Ouanaminthe
  • Identify and follow up migrant health needs with MSPP focal points
  • Support medical consultations under national protocols and IOM procedures
  • Coordinate information-sharing and border health activities while protecting confidentiality
  • Track referred migrants’ medical, administrative and financial follow-up
  • Manage inventories, requisitions, replenishment and documentation for medicines and medical supplies
  • Identify psychosocial needs and facilitate referral to suitable services
  • Prepare health activity, stock, referral and priority-needs reports and join coordination meetings

Role Requirements

  • University degree or higher in health sciences or a related field with at least three years of relevant professional experience
  • Fluency in French, oral and written

Desired Criteria

  • Experience working with vulnerable populations, including migrants, displaced people, pregnant women, children, older people or persons with disabilities

Skills to Have

Additional info

  • National Category A consultancy for six months
  • Travel may be required to follow referred migrants in the Nord-Est and Nord departments
  • Appointment is subject to funding confirmation
