Job Description

Provides part-time medical assistance to migrants using IOM services in Zarzis, coordinating referrals, treatment follow-up and medical procedures for voluntary return. The physician assesses health and protection needs, supports outreach and public-health activities, manages medical supplies, and reports on cases and project results while working with health facilities, communities and the IOM medical team.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Provide part-time medical assistance to migrants accessing IOM services
  • Coordinate hospital referrals and follow up treatment and medical conditions
  • Support medical services in government health facilities when requested
  • Assess migrant health needs and monitor the adequacy of services, including emergency response
  • Identify psychosocial and protection concerns and refer them through established procedures
  • Conduct health promotion outreach for migrants and host communities
  • Coordinate storage, maintenance and procurement of medical equipment and supplies
  • Submit individual case, progress and statistical reports and represent IOM at health-sector meetings

Role Requirements

  • University degree in medicine with at least three years of continuous clinical work experience
  • Fluency in French and Arabic

  • Experience in community outreach and dialogue
  • Practical monitoring and evaluation experience
  • Experience in emergency situations and emergency cases

  • Part-time consultancy with an expected workload of 60 hours per month
