Job Description

The UN Resident Coordinator Office in Niger is recruiting a Partnerships Officer to strengthen strategic partnerships for Sustainable Development Goal delivery. The post advises the Resident Coordinator and UN Country Team on partnership and resource-mobilization strategies, donor engagement and pooled funds, while coordinating stakeholders and developing knowledge on development partnerships.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Advise on the UN Partnership Strategy and its alignment with national priorities
  • Coordinate UN Country Team partnerships with civil society, private sector and other stakeholders
  • Identify partnership risks and opportunities and support due diligence
  • Develop resource-mobilization strategies and analyze funding streams
  • Support preparation of funding frameworks and joint programmes
  • Advise on financing for development and Sustainable Development Goal financing
  • Research partnership good practices and maintain a donor knowledge repository
  • Work with data and communications officers on monitoring, reporting and analytics

Role Requirements

  • Advanced degree in business or public administration, sustainable development, social sciences, education or related area; first-level degree route requires two additional years
  • At least five years of progressively responsible experience in strategic partnerships, programme management or resource mobilization in development cooperation
  • Experience developing strategic partnerships across government, private sector and civil society
  • Experience designing and implementing partnerships
  • Experience developing resource-mobilization strategies
  • Open to nationals of Niger

Desired Criteria

  • Data analytics, business analytics or data science programmes
  • Inclusion strategies promoting gender equality, youth participation and disability inclusion
  • UN interagency coordination
  • Knowledge management in development cooperation
  • Experience in agriculture, food systems, digital transformation, jobs and social protection, climate action, biodiversity, humanitarian action or public-private partnerships
  • Working experience with the Government of Niger and civil society
  • Two or more years of data analytics experience
