Job Description

Provides UNICEF with technical support to strengthen child-protection systems and violence prevention in Jalisco. Working with state and municipal institutions, the volunteer advances case management, alternative care, positive parenting, safeguarding and specialised services for children and adolescents, while helping turn agreed plans and public-policy priorities into coordinated local action.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Support implementation of national case-management and alternative-care models
  • Provide technical assistance for violence-prevention plans and positive-parenting programmes
  • Support plans addressing armed violence affecting children and adolescents
  • Advise legislative initiatives on positive parenting, corporal punishment and sexual offences
  • Support specialised hearing rooms for children and adolescents in the judiciary
  • Strengthen safeguarding policies and first-responder capacity for violence cases

Role Requirements

  • At least seven years of experience in human rights or child-protection work
  • Knowledge of child-protection legal and institutional frameworks
  • Spanish language ability

Desired Criteria

  • Experience in specialised child protection and violence prevention
  • Experience supporting public advocacy for child rights
  • Experience in communication, project management or institutional capacity strengthening
  • English language ability
