Job Description

Supports WFP Bolivia’s policy and programme portfolio so food assistance responds effectively to needs. The role develops projects, data and monitoring systems, analyses policy and operational issues, coordinates partners and government counterparts, and strengthens programme delivery, partnerships and staff capacity across humanitarian and development work.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Develop projects, plans and processes aligned with WFP programme policies and guidance
  • Provide project management support for sizeable and complex programmes and projects
  • Develop and coordinate data-gathering and monitoring systems that maintain rigorous quality standards
  • Research policy and operational issues to inform programme and activity development
  • Prepare timely programme reporting to support informed stakeholder decisions
  • Coordinate with counterparts, monitor projects and identify risks to delivery
  • Develop and manage partnerships that improve food-assistance packages
  • Build the capacity of WFP staff, partners and government through training inputs
  • Guide junior staff on analysis and operational queries

Role Requirements

  • Advanced University degree in International Affairs, Economics, Nutrition/Health, Agriculture, Environmental Science, Social Sciences or a related field, or a First University Degree with additional related experience and/or training
  • Fluency in spoken and written Spanish and English
  • Willingness to undertake frequent travel to field locations across Bolivia, including remote and hard-to-reach areas

Desired Criteria

  • Technical exposure to food security, resilience, nutrition, emergency preparedness and response, climate adaptation or socio-economic development
  • Experience implementing programmes or projects and contributing to policy discussions
  • Experience with national and subnational government institutions and coordination mechanisms in humanitarian and development contexts
