Job Description

Provides clinical and operational leadership for IOM's Migration Health Assessment Centre in Quito. The physician delivers migration health assessments and treatment, oversees immunization, tuberculosis and referral services, safeguards clinical records and quality controls, and manages health-programme data, supplies and finances in line with resettlement-country protocols and IOM standards.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations of the Migration Health Assessment Centre with the Chief Migration Health Officer
  • Conduct migration health assessments, medical examinations, laboratory testing, vaccinations and pre-departure procedures
  • Treat tuberculosis and sexually transmitted infections and coordinate tuberculosis case management
  • Oversee immunization and presumptive-treatment programmes in accordance with resettlement-country protocols
  • Maintain quality-improvement systems, audits, SOPs and incident reporting for MHAC services
  • Manage health data entry, reporting, budgets and procurement of medical equipment, vaccines and supplies

Role Requirements

  • University degree in Medicine with at least four years of professional work experience
  • Valid licence to practice within country
  • Fluency in English and the language of the country where the incumbent is working

Desired Criteria

  • Clinical specialization in pediatrics, pulmonology or emergency medicine
  • Clinical specialization in internal medicine
  • Specialization in public health, health care administration or healthcare management
  • Master trainer experience
