Job Description
Coordinates Zimbabwe’s One Health and antimicrobial-resistance work under the Pandemic Fund project, linking government, laboratory, animal, human and environmental health partners. The coordinator advances surveillance, biosafety and zoonotic-disease preparedness, develops workplans and reports, and builds national capacity for integrated pandemic prevention and response.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Coordinate Pandemic Fund activities in Zimbabwe
- Prepare annual workplans and implementation schedules
- Facilitate collaboration across animal, human, wildlife and environmental health sectors
- Support Zimbabwe’s National Action Plan on antimicrobial resistance
- Strengthen integrated AMR surveillance and laboratory quality systems
- Organise capacity building on One Health and pandemic preparedness
- Coordinate stakeholder engagement and information sharing
- Prepare technical, donor and progress reports
Role Requirements
- Advanced university degree in Veterinary Medicine, Public Health, Epidemiology, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Microbiology, One Health, Animal Health, Biomedical Science or a related discipline
- Minimum seven years of relevant professional experience in One Health, antimicrobial resistance, public health, veterinary public health, laboratory systems or zoonotic-disease programmes
- Working knowledge of English
- Zimbabwean nationality
Desired Criteria
- Experience in surveillance systems, laboratory strengthening, AMR initiatives or health-security programmes
