Job Description
Provides embedded technical, legal and coordination support to Somalia's Chief Negotiator and accession team as they advance World Trade Organization membership. The consultancy organizes institutional inputs, supports accession documentation and legislative reform, and keeps ITC, government bodies, the WTO Secretariat and development partners aligned on priority workstreams.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Coordinate technical working groups and Somali institutions involved in WTO accession
- Prepare briefing notes, agendas, speaking points, correspondence and meeting records for the Chief Negotiator
- Support preparation and quality review of WTO Member replies, questionnaires and accession checklists
- Compile laws, regulations and institutional material for the Legislative Action Plan
- Liaise between the Chief Negotiator's office, ITC and authorized WTO Secretariat counterparts
- Support bilateral meetings, technical missions and accession-related capacity-building activities
Role Requirements
- Advanced degree in law, international trade, international law, economics, public policy, international relations, governance or a closely related field, or a first-level degree with additional qualifying experience
- At least two years of progressively responsible experience in international trade policy, trade law, economic governance, public administration or a related area
- Direct experience supporting a WTO accession, trade negotiation or comparable whole-of-government reform process
- Excellent written and spoken English and Somali
Desired Criteria
- Advanced written and spoken Arabic is highly desirable
