Delivers legal, policy and project-coordination expertise across ITC trade and investment initiatives in Africa. The consultancy advances policy reform, digital trade, regional integration and investment-enabling work through technical review, stakeholder engagement and practical guidance for projects in The Gambia, South Sudan, Sierra Leone and East Africa.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Coordinate trade and investment policy activities across four ITC projects
- Support development and validation of trade, tourism, intellectual-property and digital-economy policies
- Plan missions and stakeholder consultations on digital trade and regional integration
- Review legal and regulatory frameworks including electronic transactions and rules-of-origin materials
- Provide technical guidance to national consultants and consolidate stakeholder feedback
- Prepare reports, action plans and policy recommendations that strengthen digital-trade environments
Role Requirements
- Advanced degree in international economic law, international trade law or a related field, or a first-level degree with two additional years of qualifying experience
- At least ten years of progressively responsible experience delivering trade-related technical assistance in international trade and development
- Experience facilitating legal and regulatory reform, regional integration and private-sector development initiatives
- Experience delivering capacity-building activities to government and private-sector stakeholders in Africa
- Proficiency in English
Desired Criteria
- Professional qualification as a lawyer is desirable
- Previous experience with ITC or another international organization is desirable
- Experience in investment facilitation, intellectual property, creative industries policy, the digital economy, rules of origin or WTO accession is desirable
