Mine Tech AI Analyst

Leads the operational design, launch and delivery of UNDP's MineTech AI Lab in the timbuktoo innovation initiative. The analyst turns the Lab architecture into programmes across AI venture acceleration, compute and data access, talent development and partnerships, while maintaining responsible-AI gates, performance data, reporting and links with the host hub and technology ecosystem.

• Lead the AI Lab's operational design, launch, annual plan, resource planning, deliverables and KPIs
• Activate and coordinate the Lab's five operating modules and integrate them into host-hub operations
• Run intake, responsible-AI and compliance gates before ventures access Lab resources
• Manage technology partnerships, AI venture acceleration, sectoral challenges, hackathons and advisory-board engagement
• Organise equitable compute access and establish a sectoral data sandbox aligned with UNDP security and data-governance standards
• Operate the AI learning pathway, talent registry and AI Fellows coordination with academic and technical partners
• Maintain Lab performance data, reporting, knowledge products and network coordination

• Advanced degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Engineering or a related technical discipline
• Bachelor's degree with two additional years of qualifying experience, or an equivalent combination of advanced technical and venture-building experience, may be considered instead of an advanced degree
• Bachelor's-degree applicants require at least two years of relevant experience in AI, machine learning or adjacent fields
• Proficiency in English

• Fluency in modern AI tooling, frameworks and deployment environments
• Experience with technology ventures, startup acceleration or venture building
• Experience with technology-partnership management, data governance, responsible AI or innovation labs
• Experience in African technology ecosystems or comparable emerging markets
• Experience in mining or mining technology and AI use cases
• Professional certifications from recognised technology developer programmes
