Job Description

Supports UNIDO's Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence Division in advancing the AI and Digital for Industry Navigator. The intern conducts research, prepares publication and event inputs, helps structure country readiness data, and supports meetings, knowledge products and administration that promote responsible digital transformation and artificial intelligence for industry.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Research and draft inputs for the UNIDO–IBM–Oxford Insights AIDIN publication
  • Prepare documentation, agendas, briefing materials and logistics for UNGA81 engagements
  • Collect, verify and structure country AI and digital readiness data for AIDIN pilots
  • Prepare briefings, presentations and summaries on AI, innovation and digital-economy topics
  • Support AIM Global meeting materials and knowledge-exchange products
  • Maintain documentation on partnerships, meetings, technical events and webinars

Role Requirements

  • Current enrolment in an eligible university degree programme or graduation within one year
  • Relevant study in information systems, computer science, data science, digital innovation, economics, public policy or international development
  • Demonstrated interest in AI, digital transformation, data analysis or digital economy topics
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • Proficiency in MS Office

Desired Criteria

  • Familiarity with data analysis, data visualization or basic programming
  • Interest in AI governance, responsible AI or digital-transformation policy in developing countries
  • Knowledge of another official United Nations language

Additional Information

  • Full-time internship with a three-to-six-month duration
  • Interns receive a monthly stipend based on duty station and bear living, accommodation and visa costs
  • An end-of-internship report must be submitted and cleared by HRM
