Job Description
Supports IOM Italy’s Migration and Development Unit in diaspora engagement, migration mainstreaming, private-sector engagement and circular-migration work. The intern follows up with migrant associations and local authorities, gathers activity data, helps organise stakeholder events and training, tracks research and statistics, and develops visibility materials and reporting inputs.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Support Migration and Development focal points on diaspora engagement, migration mainstreaming, private-sector and circular-migration activities
- Follow up contacts and activities with migrants’ associations, interns and local authorities
- Collect specific data for Migration and Development activities
- Help organise project events, stakeholder workshops and training for migrant associations
- Track statistics, analytical reports and research relevant to unit activities
- Analyse and present data for reporting, briefings and presentations
- Develop and update Migration and Development visibility materials
- Support administrative procedures and requirements for the unit
Role Requirements
- Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme at minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or a related field, or have graduated in the last 12 months
- Less than two years of relevant working experience
- Be between 20 and 36 years of age
- Working knowledge of English and Italian, oral and written
Desired Criteria
- Experience working with migrants or diaspora
- Prior experience with UN organisations, humanitarian organisations, government or non-government institutions in a multicultural setting is an advantage

- Depending on experience and location, interns are granted a small monthly stipend to help offset costs
