Job Description
Supports the Security Council Secretariat Branch in New York to deliver Council meetings. The assistant coordinates documents, agendas, participants, meeting facilities and procedural records; maintains databases and website information; and provides logistical, travel and administrative support that keeps the Council’s daily programme of work and subsidiary-body activities running smoothly.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Ensure documents and services are available for Security Council meetings
- Process Security Council documents and track publication status
- Check documents against UN standards and coordinate reproduction
- Prepare meeting agendas, journal summaries, communiqués and participant lists
- Maintain meeting and document databases and publish daily Journal information
- Create and post daily Security Council website entries
- Support travel-administration tasks for Council field missions
- Coordinate procedural and organisational arrangements with offices and delegations
Role Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Seven years of conference-support experience, reduced to five years with a first-level university degree
- Be fluent in English
Desired Criteria
- Meeting servicing for an intergovernmental or similar organ is desirable
- Experience using documents and meetings management databases is desirable
- French is desirable

Additional Information
- The locally recruited position is for an initial period of one year
