Job Description
The Liaison and Policy Officer supports the UN Network on Migration’s engagement in New York on follow-up to the Global Compact for Migration. The role prepares briefings and policy analysis, monitors intergovernmental processes, coordinates Network workstreams, maintains relationships with missions and migration actors, and contributes to outreach, meetings and communications.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Support liaison on Global Compact for Migration follow-up and related General Assembly resolutions
- Prepare briefings, outreach activities and background documents for Member States and UN entities
- Monitor and analyse interventions in intergovernmental meetings and consultations
- Maintain relationships with Permanent Missions on Network initiatives
- Support New York-based meetings and engagement with GCM Champion Member States
- Coordinate relevant Network workstreams and multilateral-process engagement
- Prepare analytical inputs on GCM discussions in the General Assembly, ECOSOC and other bodies
- Draft briefing notes, policy papers, talking points and summaries
Role Requirements
- Master’s degree in international studies or a related field with two years of relevant professional experience, or bachelor’s degree with four years
- Experience in multilateral environments and UN intergovernmental processes
- Fluency in English, oral and written
Desired Criteria
- Working knowledge of French or Spanish
- Direct experience supporting Global Compact for Migration review
