Job Description

IOM’s fellowship call builds a pool of North Macedonian diaspora experts to support EU accession reforms. Future assignments may deliver training, mentoring, policy advice, legislative-alignment support and remote consultations, helping institutions transfer EU knowledge, strengthen administration and implement the acquis.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Deliver lectures and presentations on EU institutions and accession
  • Provide on-the-job training and mentoring to civil servants
  • Advise institutions on EU integration and legislative alignment
  • Support institutional reform and administrative-capacity development
  • Participate in expert visits, study visits and working groups
  • Provide remote consultations and advisory sessions
  • Transfer practical knowledge from EU institutions and member states

Role Requirements

  • North Macedonian origin with temporary or permanent residence outside North Macedonia
  • Relevant experience in EU institutions, EU member-state administrations, academia, research, policy institutes or EU-focused civil society, or relevant academic qualifications, or practical EU-accession experience
  • Technical expertise in at least one EU acquis chapter or related thematic area
  • Medical fitness for any appointment
  • Personal non-occupational medical insurance before commencing a consultancy

Desired Criteria

  • Experience with accession processes in a candidate or recently acceded country
  • Ability to undertake short missions or remote engagement
