Job Description
Transform the Computational Economics Team's analysis, country engagement and evidence into accessible policy and knowledge products for policymakers and practitioners. The consultancy combines policy research, interviews, analytical writing, editorial development and product design, strengthening stories, publications and evidence-based decision support within ESCWA's data science division.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Conduct desk research on economic, social and public-policy issues for the Computational Economics Team and ISPAR
- Prepare interviews, surveys and qualitative evidence-gathering with Member States and other stakeholders
- Organise and document country-engagement evidence for reuse in digital and written knowledge products
- Draft accessible policy and analytical content for policymakers, practitioners and non-specialist audiences
- Prepare country stories, case studies, briefs and web content from analysis and country engagements
- Edit draft material for clarity, structure, consistency, accuracy and accessibility
- Support literature reviews, fact-checking, source verification and structured inputs for analytical publications
- Develop editorial series and digital knowledge-product formats that improve the visibility and usefulness of the team's work
Role Requirements
- Master's degree in journalism, communications, public policy, economics, international relations or a related field
- At least five years of relevant policy research, journalism, analytical writing, editorial work or knowledge-product experience
- Experience independently researching complex topics and developing policy, analytical or editorial products from concept through final draft
- Experience conducting interviews, surveys or qualitative evidence-gathering with senior stakeholders or public-sector counterparts
- Ability to translate technical, economic, statistical or policy material into accurate content for different audiences
- A portfolio or samples demonstrating excellent English-language writing across more than one format
- Fluency in English
