Job Description

IOM Costa Rica is recruiting a Senior Project Associate to coordinate integration activities for migrants with regular migration status. The role leads project delivery, employment-service pathways and stakeholder coordination; monitors budgets and implementation; develops reports and capacity-building activities; and supports access to livelihoods and sustainable labour-market integration.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate project implementation and adjust modalities and work plans in response to field conditions
  • Research and analyse relevant migration, legislation and socioeconomic-integration information
  • Monitor project budgets and coordinate financial, administrative and technical aspects under IOM and donor requirements
  • Plan and conduct capacity-building workshops for internal and external partners
  • Maintain liaison with authorities, UN agencies, donors and other stakeholders
  • Prepare correspondence, reports and presentations and supervise reporting staff

Role Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in business administration, operations management, public administration, project management, political or social sciences, international relations, migration studies, law, economics or a related field plus five years of relevant experience
  • Alternatively, high-school diploma plus seven years of relevant professional experience
  • Fluency in Spanish and English
  • Experience in labour migration, socioeconomic integration and staff supervision
  • Valid residence and work permit for the country of duty station

Desired Criteria

  • Studies in gender, labour migration, case management, peace and conflict studies
  • Experience coordinating with institutional and UN counterparts
