Job Description
Shapes IT solutions for beneficiary services in WFP’s Technology Division, delivering secure architecture and SCOPE-platform capabilities. The architect designs software and data models, assures quality, security and integration, manages environments and backlogs, guides developers, supports users and partners, and advances delivery planning, procurement, testing and documentation.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Manage the design, procurement, development, implementation and evolution of secure IT solutions
- Design software architecture and data models and present solution proposals to architectural boards
- Maintain solution quality across functionality, user experience, performance and compliance
- Ensure coherent integration with corporate technology platforms
- Establish and maintain development, testing and production environments
- Ensure security-monitoring tools prevent, detect and respond to incidents
- Improve continuous-integration and continuous-deployment infrastructure and practices
- Guide developers and provide technical support and training to users and stakeholders
Role Requirements
- Advanced university degree in computer science or a relevant field, or first university degree with additional related work experience or training courses
- Five or more years of postgraduate progressively responsible professional experience in IT, or eight years of progressively responsible IT experience without an advanced degree
- Fluency in English at level C
- Intermediate knowledge of a second official UN language or Portuguese
Desired Criteria
- Experience managing large teams using agile software-development methodologies
- Knowledge of ReactJS, React Native or Kotlin
- Experience developing offline-first applications
- Knowledge of smartcard technology, NFC, PKI and SAMs
- Working knowledge of biometrics technology
