Job Description

Supports ECLAC’s CELADE Population Division with demographic and population-development analysis. The internship gathers and organises reference material, reviews studies, produces indicators and analyses census and survey microdata, and assists meetings and intergovernmental conferences so the Division can provide evidence, policy expertise and regional cooperation support.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Search, collect and organise information and reference material on population issues
  • Review population and demographic studies and prepare detailed summaries
  • Generate and analyse demographic and population-development indicators
  • Process census and survey microdata to generate sociodemographic indicators
  • Prepare preliminary analyses from census microdata
  • Support meetings, workshops and intergovernmental conferences for the Division

Role Requirements

  • Enrolment in or completion of a graduate programme, or enrolment in or completion of the final year of a first university degree programme
  • Field of study closely related to the internship
  • Spanish

Desired Criteria

  • Knowledge of R and REDATAM
  • Ability to draft working documents and papers

Additional Information

  • Internship is full-time and may be completed in person, virtually or in a hybrid format
