Job Description

UNCTAD seeks an in-person intern in Geneva for its Investment Issues and Analysis Section. The intern will collect and analyse investment data, research green FDI and sustainable development, support World Investment Forum and COP31 events, prepare briefing materials and articles, attend meetings and draft content, gaining exposure to research, intergovernmental meetings and technical assistance.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Collect and analyse data on investment and multinational enterprises for research studies
  • Analyse firm-level data and international project finance on green FDI
  • Support research on investment in sustainable development, gender, sustainable tourism and climate change
  • Organize World Investment Forum events and prepare briefing materials for senior officials
  • Prepare articles on investment, development, digital economy and digital transformation
  • Attend meetings and assist reporting, briefs and content
  • Support institutional events related to COP31

Role Requirements

  • Be enrolled in or have completed a graduate programme or final year of a first university degree programme
  • Study a field closely related to the internship
  • Fluency in spoken and written English

Desired Criteria

  • Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an asset
  • Computer literacy in standard software applications is expected

Additional Information

  • The internship is unpaid and full-time at 40 hours per week
  • Interns cover travel, accommodation, medical insurance and living expenses
