Job Description
Supports the Geneva-based Secretariat of the Group of Friends for the Protection of Humanitarian Personnel on communications, policy and coordination. The intern helps develop content and knowledge products, analyse trends affecting humanitarian personnel, organise meetings and events, and maintain the administrative systems that enable the Secretariat’s work.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Maintain a communications content calendar
- Package stories, data and resources for social media, the website and newsletter
- Collect website, social-media and newsletter analytics
- Support video recordings, meetings and events
- Analyse trends and research on the protection of humanitarian personnel
- Prepare briefing materials, guidance notes and policy briefs
- Organise stakeholder meetings and draft meeting summaries
- Maintain contact databases and the shared inbox
Role Requirements
- Currently enrolled in, or recently graduated from, a university or equivalent-level programme in a field compatible with IFRC activities
- University degree studies in communications, international relations, political science, humanitarian affairs, public administration or a relevant field
- Excellent written and spoken English
Desired Criteria
- Experience in communications, administration, events or information management
- Familiarity with social media, websites, newsletters, photography or video
- Good command of French, Spanish, Arabic, Russian or Chinese
