Job Description
Monitors human rights and humanitarian-law implementation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, analyses evidence and advises partners on accountability and protection. The role prepares rights reporting and supports advocacy, transitional justice and engagement with UN mechanisms, civil society and national stakeholders.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Monitor implementation of human rights and international humanitarian law
- Collect and analyse evidence-based human rights information
- Draft and disseminate human rights reports, briefings and legal analysis
- Advise civil society and UN partners on protection, rule of law and accountability
- Promote transitional justice through advocacy and engagement
- Support human rights mechanisms through research, coordination and follow-up
- Handle sensitive information in line with UN privacy and security standards
Role Requirements
- Advanced degree in human rights, law, political science, international relations, social sciences, economics, public policy, sustainable development, humanitarian affairs or a related field
- At least five years of progressively responsible human rights experience
- Knowledge of international human rights law, norms and standards
- Knowledge of regional and international human rights mechanisms
- Strategic thinking, collaboration and coordination skills
- English and Bosnian, Croatian or Serbian at UN Level III

- Ability to communicate complex technical matters to diverse audiences
- Experience in human rights monitoring, documentation, analysis, research and reporting
- Experience drafting human rights reports and policy documents
