Job Description

Implements and monitors ICRC health activities in Kharkiv, focusing on first aid and pre-hospital emergency care. The officer assesses needs, supports health facilities and medical stock distribution, delivers and oversees training, coordinates with partners, and tracks programme quality and results.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments and field visits on first aid and pre-hospital emergency care threats affecting the population
  • Support preparation, coordination and delivery of first aid and pre-hospital emergency care trainings and workshops
  • Provide preparation and interpretation support during workshops, seminars and training sessions
  • Map health facilities in the area of intervention and maintain networking lists
  • Analyse statistical information, identify patterns and recommend improvements for assistance to weapon-wounded people
  • Maintain health databases, records and programme follow-up for hospital activities
  • Visit, assess and support primary health care facilities within the programme area
  • Prepare and distribute medical stock to health facilities according to operational priorities and logistics procedures

Role Requirements

  • Ukrainian citizenship or permanent residence permit in Ukraine
  • Degree in medicine or nursing with emergency medicine specialty, or paramedic science or practice
  • Qualification as a first-aid trainer
  • At least three years of experience in first-aid training or education and first-aid programme support
  • Technical experience in training
  • Professional written and spoken fluency in English and Ukrainian
  • Proficiency in computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office

Desired Criteria

  • Additional studies in advanced first aid, emergency medicine or public health are a strong asset
