Job Description
Provides operational and programme support to IOM's Typhoon Sinlaku reconstruction response in Chuuk. The officer coordinates activities across assigned geographic areas, works with affected communities and local authorities, tracks beneficiary and implementation progress, and supports delivery of shelter-recovery assistance, monitoring, reporting and accountability measures that help affected households access timely, appropriate support.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Monitor logistics, transportation, staff deployment and security arrangements for relief distribution in the assigned area
- Provide technical and operational support to staff, consultants, implementing partners and service providers undertaking relief distribution
- Represent IOM in area-level coordination meetings with authorities, organisations, civil society, private-sector and media representatives
- Update area-level workplans and relief-supply distribution plans using field information and liaison with communities and government counterparts
- Contribute to assessment and monitoring tools and support their field implementation
- Monitor programme activities and prepare updates on progress, operational challenges, risks and liaison issues
- Contribute to monitoring and evaluation plans and use findings to support programme adjustments
- Support IOM and donor visibility requirements
Role Requirements
- Master's degree in Political or Social Sciences, Humanitarian Affairs, Law, International Relations, Disaster Risk Reduction or Disaster Risk Management, or a related field with two years of relevant professional experience; or university degree in the above fields with four years
- Experience in humanitarian response, complex and post-conflict emergency operations at an international level
- Experience liaising with government authorities, donors, national and international institutions and multiple stakeholders
- Experience in programme implementation, monitoring and evaluation
- Fluency in English

Additional Information
- Special short-term graded appointment of up to nine months
- Open only to current and former IOM staff separated within the last 12 months through the structural adjustment process
- Internationally recruited professional staff are required to be mobile
- Appointment is subject to funding confirmation and medical, security, accreditation, residency or visa clearances
