Fire Marshal Assistant

Supports MONUSCO aviation operations by maintaining airfield fire safety, emergency crash-rescue readiness and response to aircraft emergencies. The volunteer supervises firefighting activities, inspects hazards and equipment, monitors airfield and refuelling operations, keeps readiness records and reports, and helps protect personnel, aircraft and mission assets through safe emergency operations.

• Conduct emergency crash-rescue operations and emergency plans
• Supervise fire crew and shift activities
• Inspect fire-prevention and airfield-safety hazards and recommend corrective measures
• Maintain firefighting readiness through training, inspections and equipment maintenance
• Monitor emergency crash-rescue availability against ICAO category requirements
• Monitor aircraft start-ups and refuelling operations
• Inventory aviation firefighting equipment and maintain readiness records
• Prepare reports on inspections, training, exercises and incidents

• 5 years of experience inspecting firefighting equipment and maintaining operational readiness
• 5 years of experience responding to fire emergencies and supporting incident operations
• 5 years of experience driving and operating fire trucks during emergency response operations
• Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting or Aviation Emergency and Rescue
• English

• Valid national driver’s license and ability to drive a manual-gear 4x4 over rough terrain
