Job Description
Designs regional technical cooperation to expand tuberculosis contact investigation and preventive treatment for people at higher risk, including those living with HIV and deprived of liberty. The consultancy develops an implementation strategy, convenes subregional meetings, supports operational research, monitors national progress and delivers country workshops that create practical roadmaps for accelerating prevention across the Americas.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Provide technical cooperation to countries expanding contact investigation and tuberculosis preventive treatment
- Monitor national progress and implementation gaps for contact investigation and preventive treatment
- Design a regional technical-cooperation strategy with activities, objectives and an implementation schedule
- Plan and facilitate four virtual subregional meetings with tuberculosis and HIV programme teams
- Monitor and support operational-research projects selected for TDR financing
- Prepare and deliver four national workshops on preventive treatment for contacts and other at-risk populations
- Produce meeting and workshop reports, implementation roadmaps and agreed national activities
Role Requirements
- Degree in medicine or a related discipline, plus a master's degree in epidemiology, public health or a related field, or a medical speciality
- At least nine years of combined national and international experience in tuberculosis and HIV
- Demonstrated experience designing, planning and facilitating public-health interventions
- Technical knowledge of tuberculosis prevention and control and communicable-disease management in detention settings
- Project-management, epidemiological-analysis, technical-support, monitoring and evaluation capability
- Native Spanish and professional working English
- Ability to organise visits, meetings, workshops and events and manage concurrent projects
