Job Description

Manages and implements UNICEF Jordan Country Office evaluations under the Country Programme's Costed Evaluation Plan and other requirements. The officer designs and follows up evaluation activities, strengthens their use for accountability and learning, coordinates stakeholders and evaluation capacity development, and advances office-wide knowledge management and an evaluation culture.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Implement evaluations under the Country Programme's Costed Evaluation Plan and other required evaluations
  • Plan, design, implement and follow up country-office evaluation activities
  • Ensure evaluations meet UNICEF policy, ethics procedures and professional norms and standards
  • Coordinate evaluation activities with other agencies and national and international stakeholders
  • Support communication, partnerships and capacity-development activities that strengthen national and sub-national evaluation capacity
  • Promote knowledge management, good practices in evaluation use and an office-wide evaluation culture
  • Work with the Chief of Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation and the MENARO specialist on evaluation quality assurance

Role Requirements

  • First-level university degree in humanities, social sciences, development economics, statistics, public administration, performance management, monitoring and evaluation or a related field
  • At least two years of professional experience supporting or implementing equity-focused evaluations and managing the evaluation function
  • Technical knowledge and experience in programme evaluation, evaluation design, data analysis and reporting
  • Experience managing evaluations and synthesizing qualitative and quantitative data
  • Fluency in English and Arabic

Desired Criteria

  • Degree or certification or accreditation in evaluation
  • Experience supporting national evaluation capacity and professional evaluation associations
  • Experience in evidence dissemination
  • Relevant country-level experience in development, fragile settings or humanitarian contexts
