Job Description

Provides on-call specialist support to FAO's independent Ethics Office across policy development, retaliation reviews, training and outreach. The assignment helps translate organisational ethics standards into workable policies and guidance, assess individual concerns, and strengthen awareness of ethical principles, accountability and protection from retaliation throughout the Organization.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Formulate FAO-wide ethics policies and procedures aligned with organisational strategy and field realities
  • Review policy support activities across departments and country and regional offices to support implementation
  • Review individual cases and advise on conflicts of interest and protection from retaliation
  • Conduct preliminary assessments and recommend action on retaliation complaints
  • Develop ethics outreach materials and training programmes to mainstream ethical principles
  • Prepare project documents, administrative reports, presentations and webinars for staff and senior management

Role Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in political science, law, public administration, communication or another relevant area
  • At least one year of relevant experience for category C or five years for category B in ethics, compliance, UN administrative law, policy drafting, risk assessment or management
  • Working knowledge of English at level C

Desired Criteria

  • Experience from a UN or multilateral organization
  • Relevant ethics experience within an international organization
