Summary of Responsibilities
- Edit specialised and technical documents for accuracy, clarity and conformity with United Nations standards
- Rewrite, abridge and restructure documents for readability and logical sequence
- Research ambiguities and verify facts, figures, references and quotations
- Advise authors on editorial policy and documentation preparation
- Use language technologies and submit new terminology for approval
Role Requirements
- First-level university degree
- Successful completion of the relevant United Nations competitive examination for editors
- At least 2 years of United Nations editing experience
- Experience with web-based applications and electronic editing tools
- Perfect command of English as the main language
- Knowledge of at least two other official languages
Desired Criteria
- Experience editing in-session documentation
- Experience delivering client training or outreach
