Job Description
Contribute to the Macroeconomic Policy and Financing for Development Division's research, capacity development and policy dialogue across Asia and the Pacific. The internship supports either macroeconomic analysis or sustainable finance work through research, policy inputs, publications, workshops, technical consultations and demonstration projects that advance sustainable development financing.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Research monetary, fiscal, tax and public-finance policy issues for macroeconomic analysis
- Identify short- to medium-term risks to sustainable development in Asia and the Pacific
- Prepare tables, graphs and inputs for ESCAP surveys, working papers and policy briefs
- Support consultations, events and workshops on sustainable and green finance strategies
- Develop capacity-building and e-learning materials on sustainable finance
- Research sustainable-financing instruments, capital markets, digital finance and integrated national financing frameworks
- Support sustainable-bond and other financing-mechanism demonstration projects
- Track trends and document case studies and best practices for national and regional financing projects
Role Requirements
- Enrollment in or completion of a graduate programme, or the final academic year of a first university degree
- Study in macroeconomics, international or development economics, political economy, econometrics, statistics, finance, environmental studies, business, engineering, physics, mathematics or a related area
- Fluency in spoken and written English
- Demonstrated interest in United Nations work and commitment to the Charter's ideals

- Ability to work with people from varied social and cultural backgrounds
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and multitask
- Good drafting and oral communication skills
- Reference-research experience
- Familiarity with data analysis
