Job Description
Supports ESCWA’s Future of Work project by analysing Skills Monitor data, labour-market needs and economic growth. The individual contractor researches emerging employment trends, assesses skills mismatches and produces country-focused evidence for technical assistance. The work helps Arab States develop responsive labour-market policies and prepare for technological change under the 2030 Agenda.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Conduct substantive research for the Future of Work project
- Update monthly economic analysis of Skills Monitor results
- Analyse Skills Monitor and government-hub data
- Provide economic analysis for country technical assistance
- Conduct skills-gap assessments
- Develop concept notes, training materials and country-tailored policy research
Role Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, social science, statistics or a related area
- At least four years of experience in economics, social science, statistics or a related area
- Fluency in English and Arabic
- Legal right to live and work in the specified duty station
Desired Criteria
- Master’s degree in a relevant field
- Knowledge of Machine Learning
- Experience with household or firm-level surveys
- Experience with Big Data analysis
- Experience in economic data presentation, drafting or visualisation
- Knowledge of French
