Economic Data System Engineer/Sr. Economic Data System Engineer

Builds and operates secure, scalable and governed economic data systems that support the IMF’s surveillance, lending, research, analytics and AI-enabled work. The role leads data-lifecycle engineering, platform architecture and production reliability, turning source data into trusted reusable products while advancing data quality, metadata, lineage, observability, governance and AI readiness.

• Design and operate economic data systems across the full data lifecycle
• Engineer reusable data products and data integration patterns
• Implement quality controls, metadata, lineage and governance
• Develop transformation and processing solutions using SQL and Python
• Apply DataOps and DevOps controls for production delivery
• Manage platforms, access controls, availability and performance

• Bachelor’s degree in a computing or data-engineering field plus 10 years of experience, or Master’s degree plus four years
• Advanced enterprise-scale data engineering experience
• Hands-on SQL and Python proficiency
