Job Description

Provides safe, reliable transport and logistical support for OHCHR operations in Tunisia. The driver carries staff and visitors, maintains official vehicles and records, coordinates servicing, and follows United Nations safety and security procedures so missions, meetings and field activities run safely, efficiently and with appropriate confidentiality and reliable daily service.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Provide safe transport for OHCHR staff, consultants and experts
  • Drive official vehicles for missions within Tunis and throughout Tunisia
  • Meet visitors at airports and facilitate transport arrangements
  • Maintain vehicles in clean and safe operating condition
  • Inspect vehicle fluids, tyres, battery and mechanical condition
  • Arrange servicing and report mechanical defects
  • Maintain logbooks, fuel-consumption and maintenance records
  • Provide logistical support for meetings, workshops and field missions

Role Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s licence
  • Minimum two years of professional driving experience
  • Fluency in Arabic and French, oral and written
  • Excellent knowledge of the road network throughout Tunisia

Desired Criteria

  • Experience with the UN, international organization, diplomatic mission or NGO
  • Experience in defensive driving and transporting senior officials
  • Working knowledge of English
