Job Description
Provides efficient and safe transport for authorized personnel and commodities from WFP's Semera field office. The driver follows approved routes and rules, supports arrivals and field deliveries, maintains the vehicle and its records, reports mechanical and safety issues, and performs basic office support tasks to keep transport services reliable, compliant and responsive to operational needs.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Transport authorized personnel and commodities using authorized routes and UN safety rules
- Meet personnel and visitors at entry points and assist with visa and customs formalities
- Maintain vehicle logbooks and report mechanical status to the supervisor
- Keep the vehicle clean, equipped and maintained and report mechanical issues
- Follow procedures for field deliveries and accidents and report problems immediately
- Provide filing, photocopying, storekeeping, mailing and bill-payment support outside driving duties
Role Requirements
- Completion of secondary school education
- Formal driver training with a valid driver's license or certification
- Two or more years of work experience as a Driver
- Fluency in oral and written English and Afar
Desired Criteria
- Experience in an international organization, embassy or UN system
- Experience driving a variety of vehicle models
- Defensive-driving experience
