WIPO seeks a Director in Geneva to lead the Innovation Impact Division’s technology-transfer, IP analytics and commercialization portfolio. The Director will set strategic direction, coordinate programs with Department and Organization priorities, manage staff and resources, mentor a multidisciplinary team, engage Member States and senior stakeholders, oversee partnerships and cooperation,.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Set strategic direction for technology transfer, IP analytics and commercialization
  • Coordinate Division programs with Department and Organization priorities
  • Manage human and financial resources for timely quality delivery
  • Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team
  • Engage Member States and represent WIPO in high-level negotiations
  • Oversee partnerships and expand service impact and reach

Role Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in management, business administration, political science, international relations, law, science, engineering or related field
  • At least fifteen years intellectual-property or innovation experience including seven years senior management
  • Excellent written and spoken English

Desired Criteria

  • Intellectual-property specialization
  • Knowledge of other official UN languages
  • Member-State engagement experience
